The Waterford School District is calling the parents of incoming kindergarten and junior kindergarten students to begin their child’s academic journey. Parents are invited to attend the Virtual Kindergarten Orientation and Expo to learn more about the district. Administrators will provide an overview of the nine elementary schools, quality kindergarten curriculum offered and take parents on a journey through a typical day in the life of a kindergarten student. The Kindergarten Orientation will also include a variety of informational stations for parents to learn about food and nutritional services, transportation, childcare, early childhood education and more! In addition, the District’s Central Enrollment staff will be on hand during the virtual event on Jan. 11 to answer questions and enroll students.
Parents should bring the following to register their child for kindergarten:
Children must be five years old by Sept. 1, 2022, to enroll in kindergarten. If your child is not five years old on Sept. 1, 2022, but will be five years old no later than Dec. 1, 2022, you may enroll your child in kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year, but parents must complete a Kindergarten Age Notification Waiver, which is available at Central Enrollment.
